Hi. My name is Tony Izzo and I sold my first novel, Cruel Winter, to
Kensington Books in 2004.
I received my B.A. in English from D’Youville College in 1995. I guess
you could say that’s where I got started writing a novel. For our senior
project, we had to choose a writing assignment, and I chose to write 50
pages of a novel. That fine piece of work is long gone (thankfully), sent
to the great recycling bin in the sky after 275 pages. Even though I
scrapped that first attempt, it still provided me with a jump start and
taught me that writing a novel is not as easy as it seems. Ten years,
two and a half novels, and many rejection slips later, I sold Cruel
Winter to Kensington. There is hope for anyone seeking publication.
Keep writing, learn the craft, and never give up.
